Mathematics of Neural Networks and Neural Codes

This course will serve as an introduction to theoretical and mathematical neuroscience, with an emphasis on neural networks and neural codes.
Topics will include: the basics of neurobiology; neural networks (perceptrons, the Hopfield model, threshold-linear networks, bump attractor networks);
neural codes (examples from cortex and hippocampus, combinatorial codes); synaptic plasticity and memory; and selected topics.
