Description: The minimum action principle (MAP) defines an optimization problem for finding the transition pathways for activated process and stochastic systems. For large and complex systems, efficient coarse-graining based on multi-physical coupling becomes necessary. This however brings new challenges to the optimization for MAP, such as inconsistency and instability. This working group aims to develop numerical methods and error analysis to address these challenges.
