Description:
This working group is an application-focused group centered on coastal flood hazards, particularly storm surge. It focused on advancing the treatment of uncertainties within flood hazard problems. Emphasis was placed on advancing emulators/surrogates for surge models and on uncertainty quantification/attribution in existing methods. Additional potential topics included:
- Model inversion for parameter calculation
- Uncertainty in climate models for hurricane characterization
- Uncertainty in statistical characterization of hurricane data
